UCAR partners with an outside coach to offer additional professional development to help UNEION program alumni have more effective conversations with colleagues, friends, and family about workplace culture, access, accessibility, and similar topics. This is framed as coaching conversations that help participants to ask good questions that encourage deeper thought and promote curiosity and exploration around currently held beliefs.
Keeping It Curious
Coaching is the skill of using impactful questions to inspire deeper thought, visioning, and change. When applied at work, coaching questions framed in curiosity can be used as a tool for intervening in challenging situations. They can also facilitate the introspection necessary to become a better colleague through self awareness about how we think and interact with others. In this full-day workshop, participants will learn basic coaching techniques and apply them to workplace instances. We aim for participants to walk away with a better understanding of techniques and tools to help them implement this powerful skill.
This program is only available to UNEION 101 alumni and is generally offered annually. Staff can sign up through Workday when the program registration is open. For more information, please contact oaco@ucar.edu.
