UCAR

This fellowship track is for graduate students who would like the opportunity to explore a career in, or significant contribution to cultivating healthy, inclusive workplace cultures that address access, culture, and opportunity for existing and future generations.

This fellowship offers one of the few, if only, opportunities to explore the role culture plays in a scientific organization while still pursuing graduate studies.

Although inherently flexible, many Workplace Culture and Development  fellows spend their first year interacting with and learning from UCAR’s Access, Culture, and Opportunity. During their first Fellowship visit, Culture fellows often spend their time shadowing and collaborating with existing programs at UCAR, while developing ideas for their own project. Fellows then spend their second year implementing their project plan. Project implementation often revolves around gaining expertise in one or more skills beneficial to workplace culture. Although Fellows have considerable freedom to explore topics of personal interest to them, exploring topics aligned with the areas of expertise offered by UCAR’s Access, Culture, and Opportunity team will offer the most effective experience. Examples include Curriculum Building and Facilitation Development, developing Workplace Culture programs, impact of Policy and Procedure on the workplace, Assessment and Evaluation techniques, and collaborations with Employee Resource Group Support. Visit this link for a full description of these topics.
