UCAR

The Members Nominating Committee seeks nominations of individuals in the community to serve on the UCAR Board of Trustees, President's Advisory Committee on University Relations and the Membership Committee, as well as the Members Nominating Committee itself. This committee is responsible for presenting candidates at the Annual Members Meeting to be voted on by the member representatives.

Under the UCAR bylaws, the Members Nominating Committee is elected from among the member representatives only. The committee must include at least one member representative who is not a trustee, and one institutional trustee, who is appointed by the Board of Trustees.

Service to the Earth System Science Community

Serving on UCAR boards and committees ensures a connection between universities and the organization. UCAR is governed by the university members and the Board of Trustees and governance committees represent those members. Terms are for three years. Trustees and committee members are expected to make every effort to participate in meetings; reviewing materials, gaining insight with colleagues, and bringing their university's perspectives to the discussion. UCAR values the engagement from all our volunteers.
