CESM Workshops & Tutorials: Each year we hold both a workshop and a tutorial on the Community Earth System Model, our fully coupled, global climate model.
CISL Workshops & Tutorials: NCAR's Computational & Information Systems Lab (CISL) offers training on a variety of subjects, including use of the Cheyenne supercomputer, artificial intelligence for Earth system science, and data visualization tools, among many other topics.
COSMIC Workshops: Our Constellation Observing System for Meteorology, Ionosphere, and Climate (COSMIC) program offers workshops and events focused on innovative observing techniques that take advantage of existing space- and ground-based GPS signals.
Developmental Testbed Center Tutorials & Workshops: The DTC offers a series of workshops that help participants test and evaluate new models and techniques for use in research and operations.
Joint WRF & MPAS Users Workshop: This workshop for users of the Weather Research and Forecasting model and the Model for Prediction Across Scales provides news about system updates, evaluations, and applications for both models. Topics can include everything from data visualization to model unification efforts.
MetEd: MetEd is a free collection of hundreds of training resources intended for the geoscience community. Whether you're an experienced meteorologist honing existing skills or a student looking for new geoscience topics of interest, there is a training for you.
MPAS Tutorials: Tutorials for the Model for Predication Across Scales–Atmosphere model cover the basics of how to set up, run, and post-process stand-alone simulations. Topics include mesh configuration, initialization, software framework, and processing tools.
WRF Tutorials: Classes for users of our Weather Research and Forecasting model are generally offered twice a year. The tutorials consist of lectures on the components of WRF and Advanced Research WRF (ARW), as well as practical, hands-on sessions.
Unidata Software Training Workshops: These workshops, held in Boulder, Colorado, or at community institutions and scientific conferences, cover a wide variety of topics, from Python for dynamical meteorology to the use of Unidata's Integrated Data Viewer.
Unidata Data Workshops: These are held on a periodic basis and cover a wide variety of topics from data access to metadata standards to data models for scientific datasets.
